The man who established Nilfisk-Advance, P.A. Fisker, started as an electrical engineer who liked to work on electrical motors. After founding his company during 1906, he started to make motors to drive machine tools, drills, coffee grinders and fans. Mr. Fisker's dream from the beginning was to have a worldwide company advertising goods worldwide.

The Nilfisk C1 was an incredible breakthrough for the cleaning trade. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed just 17.5 kilos and can be operated by a single individual. This invention came in a time where various cleaning equipment were very big and required at least 4 operators, hence, the Nilfisk C1 transformed everything and evolved the method we clean forever. The mastermind behind these first cleaning machines remains unparalleled. Cleaning machines provide a brilliant solution to an existing problem; stuff get filthy and have to be cleaned frequently, without a lot of effort.

Little by little, the company Nilfisk-Advance developed through the years. During the the early part of the nineteen eighties the company developed fast when the company became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they focused on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the business, aiming to be an active international player in manufacturing professional cleaning machines. Nilfisk-Advance is currently represented in every part of the world due to steadily acquiring many smaller companies so as to expand their product portfolio and presence in new markets.
